Wat is het LRLIBRARY-bestandsformaat?
Een .lrlibrary-bestand is de lokale bibliotheek die wordt gebruikt door de cloudgebaseerde versie van Adobe Lightroom, de desktop-app die Adobe nu simpelweg als Lightroom (voorheen Lightroom CC) levert, los van Lightroom Classic. Het werd geïntroduceerd met het cloud-ecosysteem van Lightroom in 2017.
Ondanks de extensie is het geen enkelvoudig bestand. Op macOS is het een pakket; op Windows is het een gewone map. Lightroom maakt het automatisch aan bij de installatie en noemt het Lightroom Library.lrlibrary in de map Afbeeldingen. Binnenin bevindt zich een submap met een lange alfanumerieke naam die een map originals bevat met geïmporteerde foto's in submappen op datum, evenals een of meer .mcat-catalogusbestanden, hulpdatabases, een cache en migratie- en bewerkingslogboeken. De catalogusdatabases zijn SQLite.
Omdat deze versie van Lightroom uw foto's in de cloud bewaart, fungeert de .lrlibrary voornamelijk als een lokale cache en werkgeheugen in plaats van als het hoofdarchief. Dat is het belangrijkste verschil met de .lrcat-catalogus van Lightroom Classic, wat de primaire database is.
Beveiliging & veiligheid
RISICO: LOWThe .lrlibrary is a local data package created by Adobe Lightroom and carries no executable code, so it is not a malware vector by itself. The main practical risk is disk usage, since it can grow to many gigabytes as originals are cached locally. Deleting it is safe only if your photos are fully synced to Adobe's cloud or if you no longer use the cloud-based Lightroom; deleting it while unsynced originals remain can lose those images.
