Wat is het LOCKER-bestandsformaat?
Een .locker-bestand is een versleuteld archief gemaakt door NordLocker, de app voor bestandsversleuteling van Nord Security, het bedrijf achter NordVPN. De app werd voor het eerst uitgebracht in november 2019. Elk .locker-bestand is een container die een of meer bestanden en mappen bevat die u aan een locker hebt toegevoegd, allemaal samen verzegeld als versleutelde gegevens.
NordLocker versleutelt alles op uw apparaat voordat het dit verlaat, een aanpak die het bedrijf „zero-knowledge”-versleuteling noemt. Onder de motorkap combineert het AES-256 met de XChaCha20-Poly1305-cijfer, genereert het sleutels met Libsodium en leidt het uw geheime sleutel af van uw hoofdwachtwoord met behulp van de Argon2-functie. Het resultaat is een bestand dat eruitziet als willekeurige bytes voor iedereen zonder het wachtwoord.
Beveiliging & veiligheid
RISICO: LOWA .locker file is encrypted data and does not run code on its own, so the file itself is safe to store or move. The real risk is losing access: without the correct master password the contents cannot be recovered, since NordLocker uses zero-knowledge encryption and cannot reset it for you. Only install NordLocker from nordlocker.com to avoid fake or tampered clients.
