Why convert 002 to 003?
A split set named .001, .002, .003 is one large file cut into sequentially numbered byte chunks - the .002 holds the second slice of the data stream and the .003 holds the third. They carry different bytes of the same file; the extension is a position marker, not a format. Renaming one extension to the other changes only the filename while leaving the bytes unchanged, producing a corrupt set.
How to convert 002 to 003

PeaZip OPEN-SOURCE

About these formats

- The
.001must be present - it holds the file header and is the required entry point for every reassembly tool. - Some file-extension databases list programs for 002-to-003 conversion; those entries are auto-generated by pairing extension names without verifying that the operation is meaningful.
- Every numbered part must be present with unbroken numbering; if any segment is missing, the join fails and the missing bytes cannot be reconstructed.
Frequently asked questions
Why do some websites show a 002-to-003 converter?
I have the .002 and .003 but not the .001. Can I extract anything?
.001 holds the file header; without it, the remaining parts are unreadable and the set cannot be reassembled.
