Che cos'è il formato di file JMCX?
Un file .jmcx è un file crittografato creato da JM-Crypt, uno strumento per la privacy a pagamento dello sviluppatore belga E. Bourlard. Avvolge un singolo file originale, come un documento o una foto, in un testo cifrato e lo blocca dietro una password. Senza la password corretta e l'app JM-Crypt, i contenuti rimangono illeggibili.
JM-Crypt viene distribuito come due app corrispondenti: JM-Crypt PC per Windows e JM-Crypt Mobile per Android. Entrambe utilizzano lo stesso formato, quindi un file crittografato su un telefono si apre su un PC e viceversa. Il fornitore dichiara che il cifrario è AES-256 in modalità CBC con padding PKCS, autenticazione encrypt-then-MAC e un IV casuale, con SHA3-256 che gestisce l'hashing e l'HMAC. RISCHIO: LOWA .jmcx file is inert encrypted data and cannot run on its own, so the file itself poses little direct risk. The real risk is data loss: if you forget the password or lose access to JM-Crypt, the contents cannot be recovered, since the vendor keeps no keys and there is no backdoor. Only decrypt .jmcx files you created or received from someone you trust, and keep a secure backup of the password.
