Um arquivo .jmcx é um arquivo criptografado criado pelo JM-Crypt, uma ferramenta de privacidade paga do desenvolvedor belga E. Bourlard. Ele envolve um único arquivo original, como um documento ou foto, em texto cifrado e o bloqueia com uma senha. Sem a senha correta e o aplicativo JM-Crypt, o conteúdo permanece ilegível.
O JM-Crypt é distribuído como dois aplicativos correspondentes: JM-Crypt PC para Windows e JM-Crypt Mobile para Android. Ambos usam o mesmo formato, portanto, um arquivo criptografado em um telefone abre em um PC e vice-versa. O fornecedor afirma que a cifra é AES-256 em modo CBC com preenchimento PKCS, autenticação encrypt-then-MAC e um IV aleatório, com SHA3-256 lidando com hashing e HMAC. Tudo funciona no dispositivo, sem servidor e sem backdoor, portanto as chaves nunca saem do seu hardware.

Segurança e proteção
RISCO: LOWA .jmcx file is inert encrypted data and cannot run on its own, so the file itself poses little direct risk. The real risk is data loss: if you forget the password or lose access to JM-Crypt, the contents cannot be recovered, since the vendor keeps no keys and there is no backdoor. Only decrypt .jmcx files you created or received from someone you trust, and keep a secure backup of the password.
