Was ist das IEPD-Dateiformat?
Eine .iepd-Datei ist ein Information Exchange Package Documentation-Paket. Sie bündelt alles, was zur Definition eines standardisierten Datenaustauschs benötigt wird: XML-Schemas, Beispielnachrichten, einen Katalog und eine für Menschen lesbare Dokumentation. Physisch handelt es sich um ein ZIP-Archiv, weshalb sie denselben PK-Header wie jede .zip-Datei trägt und auf dieselbe Weise extrahiert wird.
Das Format stammt von NIEM, dem National Information Exchange Model, das von US-Regierungsbehörden für den Datenaustausch in den Bereichen Justiz, Gesundheit und Notfallmanagement verwendet wird. Die NATO übernahm später dasselbe Paket und registrierte den Medientyp application/vnd.nato.openxmlformats-package.iepd+zip. In jeder IEPD befindet sich eine erforderliche Katalogdatei, iepd-catalog.xml (in älteren Model Package Description-Versionen mpd-catalog.xml genannt), die jedes Artefakt indiziert und beschreibt, damit eine empfangende Partei den Austausch ohne externe Referenzen implementieren kann.
Neben dem Katalog finden Sie Teilmengen- und Erweiterungsschemas, die als .xsd-Dokumente verfasst sind, Beispiel-.xml-Instanzdateien, Geschäftsregeln und ein Änderungsprotokoll. Der Katalog ist das Element, das ein einfaches Archiv in eine gültige IEPD verwandelt.
