Why convert VHD to ISO?
A VHD is a binary virtual hard-disk container holding partition tables, filesystems, an installed OS, and user data - a writable block device introduced with Connectix Virtual PC. An .ISO image is a flat, read-only sector dump of an optical disc conforming to ISO 9660 (published 1988) or UDF. The two formats serve completely different purposes and share no structure; there is no technically meaningful path from one to the other.
How to convert VHD to ISO
VirtualBox FREE
Attach the .vhd to a virtual machine in VirtualBox and start it - this is the correct way to run the OS stored inside the VHD without any conversion.
ISOBuster APP
If your goal is to work with an optical disc image rather than a virtual hard disk, use ISOBuster to extract content from ISO and other disc image formats.
