How to convert PDF to PSD
- Add your .PDF file - drop it in the box above or click to browse.
- Convert it to .PSD in a few seconds.
- Download your new .PSD file.
What to expect
- All text and vector content is rasterized - text in the PSD becomes pixels and cannot be edited as text.
- Resolution is fixed at import time; 150 dpi suits screen use, 300 dpi is recommended for print or large-format output.
- PDF layers are flattened during conversion and will not appear as separate layers in the PSD.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit text after converting PDF to PSD?
No - every tool rasterizes the page, turning text into pixels. To edit the text you need the original editable source file (Word, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.).
What resolution should I use?
150 dpi is enough for screen or web use; use 300 dpi if the image will be printed or needs to stay sharp when scaled up.
Why does my converted PSD look blurry?
The import or conversion resolution was set too low. Re-convert the PDF at a higher resolution - upscaling a low-dpi PSD afterwards does not recover lost detail.
Does GIMP produce a proper PSD?
GIMP exports a flat single-layer PSD, which is fine if you only need the rasterized image. It does not produce Photoshop-specific layer data or adjustment layers.
