Why convert ODG to CDR?
ODG (OpenDocument Graphics, ISO/IEC 26300) is a fully open ZIP+XML vector format. CDR (CorelDRAW) is a proprietary format whose internal structure has never been publicly documented; each CorelDRAW version uses a different undocumented binary layout, and no write API exists outside CorelDRAW itself. No third-party tool can produce a valid .cdr file.
How to convert ODG to CDR
LibreOffice Draw FREE
Open the .odg in LibreOffice Draw and use File > Export As > SVG. Open the resulting .svg in CorelDRAW - vector shapes, paths, and text remain editable. Use PDF export instead if the layout needs to be visually identical to the original.

- CDR files can only be written by CorelDRAW itself - no open-source or third-party tool can produce a valid
.cdroutput. - CorelDRAW does not open
.odgfiles directly; export to SVG or PDF in LibreOffice Draw first, then import into CorelDRAW. - SVG is the preferred intermediate format for drawings with geometric shapes; complex gradients or filters may not translate perfectly but basic geometry survives intact.
