Why convert NWD to IFC?
IFC (ISO 16739) describes buildings through typed elements, relationships, property sets, and building hierarchy. That semantic structure must originate in a BIM authoring tool. When Navisworks publishes an NWD, it flattens or discards element relationships and type information, leaving only display geometry and read-only object properties. Navisworks is a coordination and clash-detection platform, not an authoring tool, so it has no .ifc export.
About these formats
An NWD file is a published Navisworks 3D/BIM model - a self-contained snapshot of a building or infrastructure project that bundles all combined CAD geometry, viewpoints, markups and review…

- Any tool claiming
NWDtoIFCconversion would produce geometry-only output missing the element types, relationships, and property sets that makeIFCuseful. - Navisworks imports
IFCwell for coordination review, but the reverse - exportingIFCfrom Navisworks - is not supported in any version. - Navisworks Manage and Simulate can export some mesh formats via third-party plug-ins, but these are not BIM models and cannot be meaningfully converted to
IFC.
