Why convert LRV to AVI?
LRV files from GoPro and DJI cameras are low-resolution proxy clips. Some legacy video editors and industrial tools only accept .avi and reject MP4 or MOV. Converting the .lrv to AVI lets that software ingest the footage at proxy quality when the full-resolution MP4 is not available.

- The LRV is a proxy at 240p-480p; the AVI output will be the same low resolution - no quality is gained by the conversion.
- AVI does not carry H.264 as efficiently as MP4; re-encoding to AVI increases file size without any quality improvement.
- HandBrake removed AVI output in some recent versions; use FFmpeg or VLC as reliable fallbacks if the option is missing.
