Why convert WK4 to 123?
Both .wk4 and .123 are binary spreadsheet formats from the Lotus 1-2-3 family, with WK4 coming from Releases 4-5 (1993) and .123 from the Millennium Edition (Release 9, late 1990s). The conversion is mainly needed when feeding data into a legacy Lotus 1-2-3 Millennium installation that expects the .123 format. Outside that narrow scenario, migrating data to .xlsx or .ods is the sensible modern path.
