Why won't Calibre convert my .prc file?
Almost certainly DRM. Amazon-purchased books are copy-protected and Calibre refuses them; only DRM-free PRC files convert without problems.
What is the difference between .prc and .mobi?
Nothing structural - both use the Mobipocket format. .prc was the extension used on Palm OS devices; .mobi appeared on later systems. All conversion tools handle them identically.
Can I read the converted EPUB on a Kindle?
