How to convert JPX to PNG
- Add your .JPX file - drop it in the box above or click to browse.
- Convert it to .PNG in a few seconds.
- Download your new .PNG file.
What to expect
- PNG stores the decoded image losslessly; no additional compression artifacts are introduced.
- For photo-like images the PNG can be larger than the compact JPX source.
- JPX's layers and compositing are flattened to a single image, though an alpha channel can be retained.
Frequently asked questions
Is the PNG a lossless copy of the JPX image?
The PNG encoding itself is lossless, so no new compression loss is added; it preserves exactly the pixels produced when the JPX is decoded.
Why convert JPX to PNG?
JPX opens in almost no browser and usually needs a special viewer, while PNG opens natively in every OS, browser, and image app - and PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency without lossy artifacts.
Does the PNG keep transparency from the JPX?
PNG fully supports an alpha channel, so if the JPX carries transparency it can be preserved in the PNG.
Will the PNG be larger than the JPX?
Often, yes. JPX uses aggressive wavelet compression, so for photographic content a lossless PNG of the same image is frequently larger.
