Why convert JAR to EXE?
Double-clicking a .jar fails on most Windows machines because Java is not installed or the file association is missing. Wrapping the JAR as an .exe removes that friction: users see a standard Windows executable and do not need to know what Java is.

- The JVM dependency cannot be removed - a
.jaris Java bytecode and every wrapper either bundles a JRE or requires one installed on the target machine. - jpackage bundles a stripped-down JRE, adding roughly 60-100 MB to the package; Launch4j creates a small stub that locates an installed JRE at launch time.
- The JAR must be runnable - its
META-INF/MANIFEST.MFmust contain aMain-Classentry - for any wrapper to work.
