Why convert EPS to DST?
An .eps file stores artwork as mathematical paths and colors. A .dst file stores a sequence of physical needle movements for a specific machine, fabric, and thread density. No software can infer stitch type, direction, underlay, or pull compensation from a graphic file - these decisions require a human operator working in dedicated digitizing software.
How to convert EPS to DST
Embroidery i2 for Adobe Illustrator APP
Use the Embroidery i2 plugin inside Adobe Illustrator to import the .eps as a reference, then manually assign stitch types and parameters to each design area and export as .dst.
CorelDraw Graphics Suite APP
Import the .eps into CorelDRAW as a tracing reference, then use an embroidery digitizing plugin to manually assign stitches and export to .dst.

- EPS-to-DST is not a file format conversion - it is manual digitizing; stitch type, angle, underlay, and pull compensation must be assigned by a human operator.
- A
.dstfile encodes physical needle movements specific to fabric, thread count, and finished size; none of these parameters exist in an.epsfile. - Auto-digitizing tools attempt to generate stitch files from raster images but produce poor results for anything beyond the simplest flat artwork.
