Why convert DMP to PDF?
A .dmp file stores CPU register states, loaded driver lists, call stacks, and raw memory regions at the moment of a crash. A .pdf stores pages with text and images. These formats share no common structure - there is nothing for a PDF renderer to map, and no tool converts a .dmp directly to PDF.
How to convert DMP to PDF
NirSoft BlueScreenView EASIEST
Run BlueScreenView, select the crash, use File > Save Selected Items to export an HTML report, then print the HTML to PDF from any browser.
WinDbg FREE
Open the .dmp via File > Open Crash Dump, run !analyze -v, copy the text output, paste into a text editor, and use Print to PDF.
About these formats
A .dmp file is a snapshot of memory that Windows saves when it crashes (the blue screen of death). You read it with the free WinDbg tool or the simpler NirSoft BlueScreenView to find out…
Open .DMP details →A PDF (Portable Document Format) is a fixed-layout document that looks identical on every device - fonts, images, and layout are all embedded. Open it in any browser or the built-in viewer…
Open .PDF details →Quality & what to watch
- The correct workflow is to analyze the dump, get a text report, and then print that report to PDF - no tool converts
.dmpdirectly. - A full memory dump (
MEMORY.DMPinC:\Windows) may contain passwords or session tokens from RAM; minidumps (C:\Windows\Minidump) are safer to share. - The
.dmpfile can be safely deleted via Disk Cleanup ('System error memory dump files') if no investigation is needed.
