- Any
ComicInfo.xmlmetadata inside the.cbz(series name, issue number) is not carried over to the PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting CBZ to PDF lose image quality?
Not with Calibre or our converter - the original page images are packaged into the PDF as-is. Quality loss only occurs if you resize or re-encode images during export.
Why are the pages in the wrong order in my PDF?
Page order follows filename sorting inside the ZIP. Without zero-padded names,
10.jpg sorts before 2.jpg; rename the files with zero-padding (e.g. 001.jpg) and reconvert. Will the PDF display well on a Kindle?
PDFs open on Kindle but comic pages are sized for landscape screens, which looks cramped on e-ink displays. For Kindle, use Kindle Comic Converter (KCC) instead.
How large will the resulting PDF be?
Close to the original
.cbz - typically 10-400 MB per issue - since the page images are stored with minimal overhead. Our free PDF toolsAll tools →
