How to convert CBR to MOBI
- Add your .CBR file - drop it in the box above or click to browse.
- Convert it to .MOBI in a few seconds.
- Download your new .MOBI file.
What to expect
- MOBI is a legacy format - Amazon removed it from Send to Kindle in 2022; use EPUB or AZW3 for any Kindle from around 2022 onward.
- CBR pages are fixed image scans, not text; on small Kindle screens, dense manga or comic pages can appear very small without screen-optimized resizing.
- MOBI bundles two internal content versions for backward compatibility, so the output file is often larger than the source
CBR.
Frequently asked questions
Can I read CBR on a Kindle without converting?
No - Kindle devices and the Kindle app do not open
CBR files; you must convert to MOBI, AZW3, or EPUB first.Should I use MOBI or EPUB for my Kindle?
Use EPUB for any Kindle from around 2022 onward or when using Send to Kindle; use MOBI or AZW3 only for older Kindle devices that require USB sideloading and lack EPUB support.
Why do comic pages look blurry or tiny after converting?
CBR pages are fixed-resolution images; on small Kindle screens they can render very small - in Calibre's Comic conversion section, set the output profile to your device model to auto-resize pages.
