Why convert 123 to WK1?
Converting .123 to .WK1 is a deliberate down-conversion done for legacy reasons - chiefly to feed industrial controllers, CNC machines, or old lab instruments that read Lotus Release 2 files and have never been updated to accept newer formats. It is also sometimes needed to pass data into older Lotus-era software still running in production environments. This is a niche use case; if you just want the data in a modern tool, export to XLSX or CSV instead.
