Wat is het JUK-bestandsformaat?
Een .juk-bestand bevat broncode geschreven in Juka, een gratis, open-source programmeertaal die is gebouwd om dezelfde code op veel platforms uit te voeren. Het bestand is platte UTF-8-tekst en bevat dus leesbare instructies: functie- en klassendeclaraties, lussen, voorwaarden, try/catch-blokken en uitvoer-aanroepen zoals printLine(„test” + 5);.
Juka is de opvolger van een eerdere taal genaamd Juliar, die de extensie .jlr gebruikte. Het project wordt onderhouden door de JukaLang-gemeenschap en de broncode staat op GitHub en Codeberg. Onder de motorkap worden Juka-programma's afgehandeld door JukaCompiler, een .NET-component die de Roslyn-bibliotheken van Microsoft gebruikt om broncode om te zetten in .NET-tussencode, of deze direct via een interpreter uitvoert. De meeste mensen die een .juk-bestand tegenkomen, zijn ontwikkelaars die de taal uitproberen of vanuit de repositories werken.

RISICO: MEDIUMA .juk file is plain-text source code and cannot execute on its own by being opened in an editor. The risk is in running it: Juka code compiled or interpreted through the Juka runtime can perform any action the language allows, so treat files from untrusted sources like any other unreviewed script and read the code before running it.
