- Convert it to .PPSX in a few seconds.
- Download your new .PPSX file.
What to expect
- The deck is remapped to PowerPoint Open XML, so OpenOffice-specific effects may render slightly differently.
- Animations and transitions transfer where the two formats have an equivalent, and may otherwise be simplified.
- PPSX opens straight into full-screen playback rather than an editing view.
Frequently asked questions
How well does the layout transfer to PPSX?
Slide text, images, and structure are mapped into the PowerPoint Open XML slideshow format, and most layouts transfer cleanly. Complex effects or OpenOffice-specific styling may shift slightly because the two applications render some elements differently.
Why convert SXI to PPSX?
SXI is an old OpenOffice.org format with limited support today, while PPSX is a current PowerPoint slideshow that opens directly into full-screen playback. Converting makes the deck usable in the modern Microsoft ecosystem.
What opens a PPSX file?
PPSX opens in Microsoft PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress, Google Slides, and PowerPoint for the web; it starts in slideshow view rather than the editor.
Can the slides still be edited after conversion?
PPSX is a slide-show variant, but it opens in slideshow playback by default; the slides remain editable once opened in an editor that can resave them as PPTX. The conversion keeps the content, not the SXI editing format.
