Why convert ODP to ODT?
ODP (OpenDocument Presentation) and ODT (OpenDocument Text) are both ODF formats introduced in 2005, but they are structurally incompatible: an .odp file uses positioned slide elements on a fixed canvas, while an .odt file uses flowing paragraph and heading markup. There is no mechanical mapping between a slide canvas and a word-processing document. Any tool claiming a direct conversion would only dump unstructured text strings with no usable layout.

- Any site claiming to convert
.odpto.odtdirectly will produce garbled, unstructured output - the formats use fundamentally different internal structures. - The Outline export route gives you only slide titles and bullet text; images, shapes, and slide layout are not included.
- To get slide text as editable paragraphs, switch to Outline view in Impress (View > Outline), copy the text, and paste into a new ODT document in LibreOffice Writer.
