Конвертировать PACKAGE в DDS

БЫСТРЫЙ ОТВЕТ
Возможно ли конвертировать PACKAGE в DDS?
Да - PACKAGE конвертируется в DDS.

Open the .package in Sims 4 Studio (for Sims 4 content) or s3pe (for Sims 3), find the texture resource in the list, and click Export to save it as .dds. The reverse - importing an edited .dds back - works the same way via Import.

Зачем конвертировать PACKAGE в DDS?

A .package file is a DBPF binary archive that stores game resources including textures in .dds format internally. Custom content creators extract DDS textures to edit them in an image editor, then reimport the modified texture to retexture clothing, furniture, or other in-game objects.

Способы конвертации PACKAGE в DDS

Sims 4 Studio FREE

Open the .package via File > Open, select the texture entry in the resource list, and click Export to save the .dds; use Import to replace it after editing and then save the .package.

s4pe OPEN-SOURCE

Open the .package in s4pe, filter by resource type (RLE2 or RLES for Sims 4 textures), right-click an entry and choose Export > To file, saving with a .dds extension.

Качество и на что обратить внимание

  • DDS textures in Sims 4 packages commonly use BC1 (DXT1) or BC3 (DXT5) compression; your image editor needs a DDS plugin that supports these formats.
  • Sims 3 and Sims 4 use different DBPF versions and different texture resource type IDs - use s3pe for Sims 3 packages, not s4pe or Sims 4 Studio.
  • You cannot edit the texture in place; export it as .dds, edit externally, then reimport into the .package using the same tool.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Can I open a Sims 4 `.package` in s3pe?
No. s3pe expects the Sims 3 DBPF version. Use Sims 4 Studio or s4pe for Sims 4 packages.
What image editors support DDS files?
GIMP with its DDS plugin and Photoshop with the Nvidia DDS plugin both handle the BC1 and BC3 compressed textures used in Sims packages.
Does exporting a texture change the `.package` file?
No. Export writes a new .dds file; the .package is unchanged until you explicitly import a modified texture and save.
