O que é o formato de ficheiro EXPRESS?
Um arquivo .express é uma apresentação feita com o BlackBerry Express, um aplicativo de criação de slides para telefones BlackBerry 10. A BlackBerry Sweden construiu o aplicativo e o lançou como um beta gratuito no BlackBerry World em novembro de 2013, atualizando-o para a versão 1.0.1.16 em dezembro daquele ano. A ideia era permitir que alguém montasse uma apresentação no telefone em minutos, organizando o conteúdo em capítulos, seções, tópicos e texto, e depois a apresentasse no dispositivo ou em uma tela externa via HDMI.
Apesar da extensão, um arquivo .express não é um binário proprietário. É um arquivo .tar sob um nome diferente. Dentro dele reside um manifesto JSON que registra a estrutura e o texto dos slides, junto com cópias de cada imagem que o autor importou. Não há compressão ou criptografia, e é por isso que o conteúdo sai de forma limpa assim que você trata o arquivo como um arquivo de compactação.
Segurança e proteção
RISCO: LOWAn .express file is a passive TAR archive of images and JSON text, so it does not execute code. The main risk is practical rather than security-related: the app that created it is discontinued, so opening one now means extracting its parts manually. As with any archive from an unknown source, scan it before unpacking, since a TAR container could in principle hold unexpected files.
