Un fichier .fetchmirror est un document de paramètres enregistré créé par Fetch, le client FTP, SFTP et FTPS pour macOS édité par Fetch Softworks. Fetch dispose d'une fonction « Mirror » qui copie les fichiers nouveaux ou modifiés entre un dossier sur votre Mac et un dossier sur un serveur distant, dans l'un ou l'autre sens. C'est un moyen courant de maintenir un site web à jour ou de sauvegarder un dossier sur un serveur.
Lorsque vous configurez une fenêtre Mirror et appuyez sur « Save », Fetch écrit la configuration dans un document .fetchmirror. Le fichier enregistre le chemin du dossier local, le chemin du dossier distant, l'hôte, le nom d'utilisateur, le sens de synchronisation et si les éléments orphelins à la destination doivent être supprimés. Il ne stocke pas votre mot de passe. Si une connexion en nécessite un, Fetch le demande ou le lit dans le Trousseau d'accès (Keychain) de macOS. The main caution is that it stores host names, usernames, and folder paths in readable form, so treat it as mildly sensitive and avoid sharing it publicly. It only does anything when opened in Fetch on a Mac.
