- The decryptor only works for GandCrab versions 1, 4 and 5.0.1-5.2. Versions 2 and 3 have no free decryptor, and running the tool on them gives an initialization error.
- You must still have a copy of the ransom note on the machine and an active internet connection, because the tool contacts Bitdefender's servers to compute your unique key.
- Remove the ransomware itself with an antivirus scan first, but do not delete the ransom note until after decryption, or key recovery can fail.
