Why convert GAMBL to CSV?
A .gambl file holds sensor runs, columns and graphs from a Vernier experiment, but almost every spreadsheet or analysis program (Excel, Google Sheets, Python, R) reads plain .csv instead. Exporting to CSV frees the numbers from the proprietary Vernier container so you can chart or process them anywhere.

About these formats
A .gambl file is a project saved by Vernier Graphical Analysis, the data-collection and graphing app used in school and university science labs. It holds one or more recorded data sets…
Open .GAMBL details →A CSV file stores tabular data as plain text - one row per line, values separated by commas (or semicolons in European locales). Any spreadsheet opens it: Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice…
Open .CSV details →Quality & what to watch
- Only the numeric data columns are exported. Graphs, curve fits, calculated columns and annotations are not preserved in the
.csv. .gambl(Graphical Analysis Pro) and older.amblfiles cannot be re-imported directly - CSV is the intended interchange path, so the round trip is lossy.- Column headers and units may be flattened into a single header row, so check them before analysis.
