Why convert EX4 to EX5?
EX4 is compiled MQL4 bytecode for the MetaTrader 4 terminal, and EX5 is compiled MQL5 bytecode for MetaTrader 5. The two platforms use different languages, different virtual machines, and different binary formats. Converting would require decompiling EX4 - which MetaQuotes protected against since MT4 build 600 in 2014 - then manually rewriting the logic in MQL5, which is a developer task, not a file conversion.
How to convert EX4 to EX5
MetaEditor 5 FREE

- No decompiler can reliably reverse a modern
.ex4file - MetaQuotes added obfuscation in MT4 build 600 (February 2014) specifically to prevent automated decompilation. - MQL4 and MQL5 differ in syntax, function libraries, and object model; porting requires a developer, not just a tool.
- MT4 and MT5 can run on the same machine - running the
.ex4in MT4 alongside MT5 is a valid alternative to porting.
