Eine .aseprite-Datei ist das native Projektformat von Aseprite, einem Editor für animierte Sprites und Pixel-Art von Igara Studio. Anstatt eines einzelnen flachen Bildes speichert sie ein vollständiges Sprite: mehrere Animations-Frames mit ihrer Dauer, Ebenen und Ebenengruppen, Mischmodi, die Farbpalette, Animations-Tags und Slices. Aseprite unterstützt RGBA, Graustufen und indizierte Farben; Version 1.3 fügte Tilemaps und Tilesets derselben Datei hinzu.
Intern ist das Format binär und Little-Endian. Es öffnet sich mit einem 128-Byte-Header, der die Magic Number 0xA5E0, die Frame-Anzahl, Leinwandgröße und Farbtiefe enthält, gefolgt von einem Block pro Frame. Jeder Frame enthält typisierte Chunks für Ebenen, Cels, Paletten, Tags und Slices, wobei die Pixeldaten innerhalb jedes Cels DEFLATE-komprimiert sind. Die Erweiterung .ase ist das identische Format unter einem anderen Namen, sodass beide austauschbar sind.

RISIKO: LOWAn .aseprite file is passive image data with no scripting or macro capability, so simply opening one cannot execute code. The only realistic risk is a malformed file triggering a parser bug in older editor builds. Keep Aseprite or LibreSprite updated and obtain files from sources you trust.
