Зачем конвертировать VHDX в VHD?

VHDX is Microsoft's modern virtual hard disk container, introduced with Windows 8 and Server 2012, supporting disks up to 64 TB with corruption-resistant logging. .VHD is the older format, capped at 2 TB, and is still required by certain platforms - Azure managed disk uploads and some older hypervisors that do not accept VHDX.

  • Azure requires a fixed-size VHD - use -VHDType Fixed with Convert-VHD or select Fixed in Hyper-V Manager.
