Возможно ли конвертировать SLN в ZIP?
Нет - нет прямой конвертации.

There is no meaningful SLN-to-ZIP conversion - the .sln file only lists references to project files that live alongside it. To share a Visual Studio solution, compress the entire solution folder so all source files travel with it.

Зачем конвертировать SLN в ZIP?

An .sln file is a plain-text manifest introduced in 1997 for Visual Studio that stores only paths to project files and build configurations. A .zip archive of the manifest alone gives the recipient a 2-4 KB text file that cannot be compiled, opened in an IDE, or run.

Об этих форматах

Качество и на что обратить внимание

  • The .sln file contains only references to .csproj, .vbproj, or .vcxproj files - all actual source code lives in those referenced files and subfolders.
  • Exclude bin/, obj/, and packages/ folders to keep the archive small; NuGet restores them automatically on first build.
  • If you have lost the full solution folder, open the .sln in a text editor to see the expected project paths, then check version control or a backup for a complete copy.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Why is my .sln file so small?
It contains no source code - only a list of which project files belong to the solution and how they map to build configurations.
Can a tool convert SLN to ZIP?
No tool does this meaningfully; any site claiming to do so wraps only the manifest file, producing an archive that cannot be compiled or used as a working solution.
I only have the .sln file - can I recover the project?
Open the .sln in a text editor to see the expected project paths, but the actual source code is gone unless you have the rest of the folder, a Git repository, or a backup.
