PNG is the standard format for sharing screenshots and renderings of a SketchUp model with people who do not have SketchUp installed. A .png opens in any image viewer, browser, or document editor and is widely used for client presentations, portfolio images, and model previews.

Open the .skp file, set the camera angle, then go to File > Export > 2D Graphic and select PNG. Click Options to increase the pixel dimensions before exporting.
SketchUp for Mac APP
Open the .skp file, position the view, then choose File > Export > 2D Graphic and pick PNG. Use the Options button to set a larger resolution if the default viewport size is too small.

- The export captures the active viewport - camera angle, visible layers/tags, shadows, and the active style (sketchy lines, background color) all appear in the PNG.
- The default output resolution matches the viewport size, which is often just a few hundred pixels; open Options in the export dialog and set a larger width/height for print or high-DPI use.
- This is not a ray-traced render - textures and materials appear flat as displayed on screen, not photorealistic.
