Конвертировать DCM в STL

БЫСТРЫЙ ОТВЕТ
Возможно ли конвертировать DCM в STL?
Да - DCM конвертируется в STL.

Import the complete folder of .dcm slices into 3D Slicer, segment the bone or tissue you want using the Segment Editor, and export as .stl. The process takes a few minutes for straightforward bone segmentation. A single .dcm slice cannot produce a meaningful STL.

Зачем конвертировать DCM в STL?

STL is the standard input format for 3D printers and CAD software. Surgeons, radiologists, and medical students convert DICOM to STL to produce physical anatomical models from CT or MRI data for pre-surgical planning, prosthetic design, and education. The conversion stacks hundreds of 2D slices into a 3D volume, segments a structure, and exports its surface mesh.

Способы конвертации DCM в STL

3D Slicer OPEN-SOURCE

Import the full DICOM series via File > Add DICOM Data, use the Segment Editor module with the Threshold effect to select target tissue, then export the segmentation as .stl via the Segmentations module.

InVesalius OPEN-SOURCE

Go to File > Import DICOM, select the folder with all slices, choose a tissue preset or adjust the threshold manually, click Create Surface, then export via File > Export Surface as .stl.

Качество и на что обратить внимание

  • You must import the complete DICOM series - all slices - not a single .dcm file; one slice is one 2D image and cannot produce a 3D mesh.
  • CT scans produce much cleaner bone STLs than MRI scans because CT Hounsfield units make tissue boundaries well-defined; MRI soft-tissue segmentation requires more manual cleanup.
  • The resulting STL is a surface mesh only - it contains no color, texture, or material information.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Can I use a single DCM file to make an STL?
No - a single .dcm file is one 2D slice; you need the full 3D series (typically 50-500 files) to reconstruct a volume and extract a surface mesh.
Is 3D Slicer difficult to use for bone segmentation?
Bone segmentation from CT is relatively straightforward using the Threshold effect in the Segment Editor - set the HU range to approximately 200-400 to isolate cortical bone.
Is the STL ready to print directly?
Minor cleanup is often needed to close holes or remove noise; both 3D Slicer and InVesalius include basic mesh repair tools.
