FUR ファイル形式とは？

.fur ファイルは、tildearrow によって作成され 2021 年に初めてリリースされた無料のマルチシステム・チップチューン・トラッカー Furnace のネイティブ・プロジェクト形式である Furnace Module です。完成したオーディオを保存するのではなく、.fur ファイルには曲を再構築するために必要なすべて（チャンネル・レイアウト、ノートとエフェクトのパターン、インストゥルメントの定義、ウェーブテーブル、および埋め込まれた PCM または ADPCM サンプル）が保持されます。Furnace は 50 種類以上のレトロな音源チップをエミュレートでき、各モジュールはその曲がどのチップをターゲットにしているかを記録します。

内部的には、この形式はブロックベースのバイナリ・ファイルです。16 バイトのマジック・ストリング -Furnace module-、2 バイトの形式バージョン、そして曲情報、インストゥルメント、サンプル、パターン・データのための名前付きブロックの一連のシーケンスで始まります。ファイル全体が zlib 圧縮されている場合があり、Furnace はこれを自動的に検出します。形式バージョンは単純な整数で、Furnace 0.4.6 の 27 から 0.6.8.1 の 228 まで上昇していますが、古いファイルとの互換性は維持されています。
