Конвертировать CONFIG в TXT

БЫСТРЫЙ ОТВЕТ
Возможно ли конвертировать CONFIG в TXT?
Да - CONFIG конвертируется в TXT.

For .NET App.config and Web.config files, which are plain XML, rename the file or use Save As in a text editor - the content is byte-for-byte identical. Binary .config files look like gibberish in a text editor and cannot be converted this way.

Зачем конвертировать CONFIG в TXT?

A .config file is usually plain text - XML for .NET App.config and Web.config, or key=value/INI for other apps. The only reason to produce a .txt copy is if a tool, script, or colleague requires that extension and will not accept .config; the file content does not change.

Качество и на что обратить внимание

  • A plain-text .config and the resulting .txt are byte-for-byte identical - no data is added, removed, or reformatted.
  • Binary .config files appear as random characters in a text editor; renaming them to .txt produces an unreadable file.
  • The .NET runtime reads settings by exact filename (App.exe.config, Web.config); renaming to .txt means the application will not find the file.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Do I need a converter program?
No - for plain-text .config files, a file rename or Save As in any text editor is all that is needed.
What if the file looks like gibberish in a text editor?
It is a binary config; renaming it to .txt produces an unreadable file - use the program that created it to manage its settings.
Will the application still work after renaming?
Not if it reads the original filename; keep the original .config and use the .txt copy only for viewing or sharing.
