How to open file with IDX extension?

Step 1. Get the Visual FoxPro

• By clicking right mouse button on the selected IDX file open the file menu and choose Information
• Open the Open with section by clicking its name
• From the list choose the appropriate program and confirm by clicking Change for all....
• A message window should appear informing that This change will be applied to all files with IDX extension. By clicking Continue you confirm your selection.

Step 4. Check the IDX for errors

If you followed the instructions form the previous steps yet the issue is still not solved, you should verify the IDX file in question. Problems with opening the file may arise due to various reasons.

1. Verify that the IDX in question is not infected with a computer virus

If the file is infected, the malware that resides in the IDX file hinders attempts to open it. Scan the IDX file as well as your computer for malware or viruses. If the IDX file is indeed infected follow the instructions below.

2. Check whether the file is corrupted or damaged
