What is MCD file?

File with .MCD filename extension contains a 2D/3D drawing project in vector format native to VectorWorks program. MCD is a binary file saved in proprietary CAD (Computer Aided Design) format. MCD stands for Mini CAD Design/Drawing. The format was originally used by MiniCAD software tools, and VectorWorks application used it by default for saving created projects up to version 12. VectorWorks 2008 and later use VWX format for storing created projects. MCD files may store such projects as:
